How it works
Each function has a short description and one clip.
Your projects & a new deck
Push Ctrl+O to open your decks. The app puts new ones in
Documents/Ovation, one .html file each. You can keep a deck
in a different location. The app remembers the deck after you open it.
Ask the agent
Write your instruction in the panel. The agent changes the deck while you look at it. If the result is good, continue. If the result is not good, undo it and give a new instruction.
Type on the slide
Click a thing on the slide to pick it up. Double-click to go one level deeper, until you reach the text itself. Push Enter to put a caret in it and type. Push Esc to keep the change. Push Ctrl+Z to undo a change. Push Ctrl+Y to apply the change again. The app keeps 120 steps.
Reorder slides
Drag a slide in the filmstrip. The app shows the new position before you release the slide.
Put things on a slide
The row at the top adds text, an image, a video, a chart or a demo to the slide you are on. Slide adds a new slide. Each thing you add is an object: drag it where you want it, and the guides show when it lines up with what is already there.
Steer the agent
Type /setup to open Deck setup. Style says how the deck
should look. Rules holds the hard limits, one line each, for example:
"keep the title slide as it is". The agent reads both before each change. They sit
beside the deck as style.md and rules.md, so they travel
with it.
Go back a version
Click More at the top and choose Versions, or type
/versions in the agent box. Both open the same panel: what the deck
looked like before each change, with the time it happened. Open one and the app puts it beside the deck you have
now, slide by slide: Older on the left, Current deck on the
right. Choose per slide, or take all the older ones at once, then
Apply. A slide you deleted comes back the same way.
Arrange the app
The slides, the notes and the agent are panels, not fixed furniture. Click the
header of one to fold it to a bar, and click the bar to bring it back. Drag the
edge between a panel and the slide to resize it. Drag a panel by its header and
the window shows which side it will land on. Type /layout to put
every panel back where it started.
Present
Push F5 with the deck in focus, or click Present at the top right. The presentation uses the runtime of the deck file. The browser of the receiver shows the same result. Push the arrow keys, Space, or click to go forward. Push F for full screen. Push Esc to stop.
